You might have just purchased Genesis Framework and uploaded the theme in your WordPress blog. But how to remove the default Genesis Theme Logo with your new Logo. But if you are not aware about the Genesis framework, then it will not be an easy task for you. In this Genesis customization tutorial, I will share how to replace existing Genesis theme Logo with your brand Logo.

Steps to Remove Default Genesis Theme Logo

Before proceeding further, lets check out what is the current situation and what is our target. We will replace the Logo and put up a Logo like we have uploaded for our website.

Remove Default Genesis Theme Logo

Enable Genesis Theme Logo Option

Go to your WordPress dashboard area and click on Genesis icon. Now scroll down and change the Header options for Logo and Site title. You have to change the option and make it to Image LOGO like below. Then save the settings.

Find out the CSS style attached to Logo Image

Now you will be able to see the default Genesis Logo in your theme. But there will be no option to upload your own logo from WordPress dashboard. Rather this image logo is coming from the CSS style-sheet. Now you have to find out the CSS tag for this logo.

Remove Default Genesis Theme Logo

Like the image I have shared, simply right click on the Genesis Image Logo and click in inspect element. It will open up a code area form where you will find that the Logo area is tagged under <h1 class=”site-title” itemprop=”headline”>.

Find out CSS tag and change the Logo

Now open your Genesis theme Style-Sheet and find out the .site-title. You will find some code like this.

.header-image .site-title > a {
background: url(images/logo.png) no-repeat left;
float: left;
min-height: 60px;
width: 100%;
}

Now here you can provide your brand logo path in the above mentioned highlighted area. Or else you can also upload your logo with the same name Logo.png and replace in the images folder of your WordPress files. There is another way to do that, by creating a header logo widget to upload your logo directly to your website. We will share that tutorial in the next article.

Hope this small genesis theme customization tutorial will help you to upload your logo.
