Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.
Dear readers, we are back again with the journey of an awesome blogger in our Blogger’s Interview series. Sasidhar Kareti from Amfastech.com is a name of humbleness and joviality. He thinks that blogging happened in his life because of ‘The Fault In Stars’. His expertise in his field earned him the top position in the Micromax’s technocrats creative writing contest among several other achievements.
We got a chance to talk to him about his blog, blogging journey and life. We are very much thankful to Sasidhar for his time in answering all the question and share his knowledge about SEO, technology and the changes in the ways one blogs today. So without much wait, let us go through this interesting discussion.
WPB360: Please tell us about yourself, your background and what your blog AmfasTech is all about.
Sasidhar: Getting featured on WP360 is an honor, thank you so much for inviting me this time. My name is Sasidhar Kareti and I am not a terrorist (just kidding). I am a jovial person, so please bear with me till the end of this interview session.
Jokes apart, I am a professional blogger and a passionate writer with +1 IT skills which help me to take on programming on the side lane. Amfas Tech is a mix-up of my passions and makes a fine milkshake of happiness and satisfaction for me. I focus on writing tech, blogging and internet marketing related content on Amfas Tech and I fully enjoy writing them.
WPB360: Are you a fulltime blogger? Why have you chosen technology as your blogging niche?
Sasidhar: Yes I am a full-time blogger. But, I would like to define my job as a freelancer. I do web development along with blogging. Technology is my cup of tea with 2 more sugar cubes in it. I always wanted to be a computer guy since my +2. Also, I am an IT engineer which steers me to take technology as a niche for my blog.
WPB360: When did you decide to take blogging as a career? What was your family’s reaction when you intimate them about this decision?
Sasidhar: It all happened like as said in ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, I took blogging as my career like we sleep, slowly and then all at once. I think I better do what I am good at other than living others life. My parents are the most supportive parents anyone could have on this planet. My dad is my inspiration for writing. He is (not ‘was’) a writer and he constantly encouraged me since my childhood to shine my stars out. So, my career decision is always left with me. All he wanted to see me as a better person in the society.
WPB360: You have started blogging at a very young age. What do you think are the pros and cons of starting early?
Sasidhar: The age I started blogging didn’t take seriously but to write what my mind speaks initially. I think I didn’t take blogging at early age if we compare with the today bloggers of 15 and 16.
Yes! There are some pros and cons about taking it as a career at early stages. As we see many of the youngsters who take up blogging and make some money out of the blog are leaving higher education. $100 might look like a big amount in the age of 15 or 16 but it is important to build a strong foundation before climbing high. It also worries the parents in countries like India which would be discouraging.
On the good side, entering into any field including blogging in early stages would give ample amount of time to explore, learn, implement, experiment and expertize.
WPB360: Blogging has taken a big change in recent years. What are your ways to outshine in this very competitive world?
Sasidhar: Yes! Blogging was born to be sharing the views and thoughts of oneself. But, now the blogging has grown into a semi-journalistic marketing practice that every company is going after. The reach of internet services to common man have revolutionized the market analysis from the user end. Feedbacks, recommendations, best and top lists work today than couple of minute TV commercials.
There is always a way to outshine if you are bringing out your true self and moving forward with that. Every blogger is unique if worked in the perspective of growth instead of just money. That’s what I do, I try to find my thing from my skills and sharpen it from time to time. If you love what you do and believe in how you are doing it, the whole competitive world would fall behind you.
WPB360: According to you, what are the SEO strategies in 2016?
Sasidhar: An ideal strategy of 2016 or any other time would be the unique and high quality content followed by the proper optimization and information filled for search engines. Suppose, if we write an article of high quality content and you don’t SEO-fill it with search bot friendly information like the metas, the bots cannot find it or may not properly place in their index leaving it to under analyze.
Sasidhar: I suppose that’s not my question or it might have flown all the way to rest here in this interview. I don’t believe in unnatural link building. Link building is not all SEO though, yet important. I don’t actually work much on link building. All I do is write good content (I think) and share it on my social channels with proper SMM strategy. It works like magic!
A good content will always be referred by anyone.
WPB360: Do you use any blogging tools for content creation & marketing? If yes, please tell us about how you are benefited from them.
Sasidhar: I don’t use tools for creating any text. I use tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop to work on images in the articles. Coming to marketing, I use Hoostsuite and Buffer to promote them in one single shot.
WPB360: Technology is a very competitive blogging niche. What are the challenges you have faced while blogging in tech topics?
Sasidhar: The competition itself is a motivation for any good blogger. Ranking on the first page of SERP was a hideous task for me in the initial stages. Later, I maintained consistency of posting 1000+ article in the span of one and half years which earned me some respect from search engines. But I’m still not a Jedi master. Continuous learning is the key to handle competition.
WPB360: How do you manage to cope up with the update frequency? Do you manage your blog alone or you have writers for your blog?
Sasidhar: I used to update my blog like we eat daily in a day in the early days. It’s been a bit difficult now due to the engagement on multiple carpets. I have some special guest authors who write on Amfas Tech occasionally and I thank them for their love and support when I need the most. I wanted to hire some fulltime authors paying good amounts but I cannot now, due to some reasons. People these days are underpaying writers working for their blogs and it hurts seeming them so.
Sasidhar: Yes I am. I have Google AdSense ads enabled on the site, do affiliates through reviews and write sponsored posts (healthy way). I also do marketing campaigns for companies of higher order.
Sasidhar: As I told you before, I work approximately 15 hours on all my jobs including blogging. I am an early bird, wake up at 5’o clock in the morning and get to work till 7:30 or 8:00. Later, I go to office to work on my web development projects, comeback in the noon by 1 or 2PM and take a break till 3:30. From 3:30, to 9:00PM I work on my blog and other freelancing tasks. Sometimes it takes more time to complete some tasks and it adds up weight to the stress.
WPB360: Which is your most awesome blogging moment so far?
Sasidhar: I have recently won the Micromax’s technocrats creative writing contest that was held all over India awarding 1Lakh bucks and an offer to work as an official blogger at Micromax. I was excited to see my name on the top of the winners list. It has put me on the map for some of the unknown bloggers in India and created a buzz among the local bloggers of my town.
That’s kinda feels encouraging and great.
Sasidhar: Number one suggestion I would give is, opt tech if and if you are good at it or else you cannot catch the pace. There is a lot in tech, choose which fields you wanted to cover before you get into serious writing. Maintain your tone of speech in every blog post you publish and do not imitate or copy anyone’s. Tech niche is attitude filled fellas. Make your own label on it. I’m not a Jesus Blogger to tell you more about it because I was one of you and you are just a few years of experience behind me. That’s it! All the best!
Thank you so much Manidipa for considering me to this interview. Hope your readers enjoy it!
